Welcome to
         Jittery Pixels

Video games are something that I’ve been passionate about for as long as I can remember. As a kid, I cut my teeth on the Atari 2600, my neighbor’s Apple II, and loitered among the local arcades during the height of their existence in the early 80s. Around 20 years ago, I began to seriously collect retro video games, consoles, arcade cabinets, and pinball machines, and since then, I have amassed a sizable collection. My love for gaming also filtered into a monthly podcast and video game “book club,” the RFG Playcast, which is now in its 8th year.

Though I never trained as an artist, I began sketching at an early age and throughout my life, I have dabbled in multiple projects and experimented with different medias. After putting together a few video game related pieces for my kids, I received a very positive response from friends and family, and have even installed a few pieces for sell in a local store (Retroid Games & Records in Winston-Salem, NC). The interest in these new pieces has been exciting; it has pushed me to spend more time creating, and in turn, has greatly enhanced my mental and physical well-being.

Jittery Pixels is a mixture of “found art” and pixel art that draws from close to 40 years of video gaming and pop culture experiences.  Each piece is unique and inspired at random by prints or paintings I find in thrift stores. On a more personal level, Jittery Pixels is a reflection of my desire to overcome a physical condition that has gradually hindered my life and ability to create. Since a child, I have struggled with hand tremors, which have become much more severe as I have gotten older. Working with small materials and painting presents quite a challenge, but sorting and pushing through this condition to create pieces that people enjoy has been extremely rewarding.

Welcome to my site and I hope you enjoy your time skimming through my work. Please contact me for general questions, pricing and availability.
